About Joe Taranto, Gold Coast Drum Teacher
Melbourne born and now based in the Gold Coast, Joe Taranto has been a drum teacher in Melbourne for Allans Music and Billy Hyde, the Aitken College Music Academy, and has conducted masterclasses both nationally and internationally. His teaching style is very wholistic in approach to cater for every student’s individual needs and musical goals. At the same time, he keeps lessons engaging and fun for all ages and skill levels.
Joe Taranto is a multi-award winning musician, producer, and artist who has featured on DRUMscene magazine many times, television, and on stage for some of Australia’s largest venues and crowds. Over 100,000 people surrounded his performance at Federation Square for Melbourne’s 2018 New Years Eve.
Some of Joe Taranto’s career highlights:
- Directing musical performances and performing on drums for the 5th International Martial Arts Games opening and closing ceremonies in 2013. Hosted in Melbourne and broadcast to a global audience!
- Winning three national drumming competitions in front of a live audience and judging panel, held at the Darebin Arts & Entertainment Centre.
- Performing with artists and bands in some of Australia’s greatest venues, which include:
– Rod Laver Arena
– Hamer Hall / Arts Centre
– The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s Iwaki Auditorium
– The State Netball and Hockey Centre
– Federation Square. Plus many more venues… - Being featured as a musician in Ford Australia’s national video ad campaign, promoting the 2015 Ford Focus. The campaign encompassed free to air and subscription television, cinema ads, Ford displays within major events and exhibitions, digital screens in shopping centres, and mobile phone placements in 3G and 4G broadcasts.
- Performing original music for the 2014 Adelaide Fringe Festival, and Parliament House Melbourne in 2015.
